Mackenzie and Lauren have been best friends for over 15 years. Thousands of miles of states between them doesn’t stop them from staying close. Mackenzie and Lauren decided she would be maid of honor probably 15 years ago. (I can’t wait for you all to meet her).

David wrote Andrew a letter, when they were nine years old, asking to be his friend— and here they are, twenty years later. From church, to boy scouts, to annual trips across the country, Andrew and David have certainly earned the title of Best Friends For Life.

Becca and Mackenzie’s friendship began long before birth. Both of their Dad’s have been thick as thieves since the 1980’s. Born just 4 months apart, Mackenzie and Becca’s friendship is one for the ages. Ask us about our matching tattoos!!

Of course Mackenzie has known Dawson his entire life, but Andrew has been friends with Dawson just as long as he has with Mackenzie. (The Finkleas are a package deal). The boys have bonded over their mutual fondness of game nights, trivia, and of course, the bride.

Through the most blessed stroke of — call it luck or fate— Hannah and Mackenzie were randomly paired as roommates on their study abroad trip to Vienna, which Andrew also attended. That month together forged a friendship that’s lasted for many more travels.

The first day of college freshman orientation, these two were staying on the same dorm floor. At the time, Andrew pointed out to James that they were wearing the same shoes— and we have Adidas to thank for this pair. James has also been a good friend and museum buddy to Mackenzie since he moved to Houston after graduation. (Ask him how he feels about moving to North Carolina this year!).

Henna will tell you she forced her friendship upon Mackenzie in their dorm elevator freshman year of college. Mackenzie will tell you she loved Henna’s vibe from that moment forward. Mackenzie and Henna keep the spark alive through FaceTime catchups and recreations of their adventures on sixth street in downtown Austin.

After crossing paths for more than a decade, both growing up in the Houston area, attending UT Austin, and signing up for the same fraternity, Rob and Andrew formally met in Los Angeles a few years ago at Giancarlo Bernini’s magic show (if you find Giancarlo at the wedding, ask him to make something disappear!!). Rob and Andrew became fast friends— sharing much in common, including their sense of humor.

Mother & Father of the Bride

Kristin and David were married in 1992. They have two children, Dawson and Mackenzie, and live happily by the sea in Galveston, Texas with their pup Hendley.

Father & Mother of the Groom

Mike & Sue Gaskins

Mike and Sue were married in 1993. Together, they have Andrew, Garry, and Kayla and three grandchildren. They split their time between home base in Austin, Texas and Oklahoma, Utah, and traveling the globe through retirement.
